How much to rebuild an engine on a VW Pasat ?

I just bought a 97 VW passat wagon glx
its in great condition with 100,000 miles

I was told its a great car but usually needs an engine rebuild at around 100k and it could be very expensive.

Just how expensive is what

it all depends on whether you are going to do it yourself or send it to a garage. if you do it your self you are probably looking at something from ВЈ500-ВЈ1100. If you send it to a garage it could be more than this, ive recently rebuilt an engine
