Suzuki quadrunner.?

I have a 1998 suzuki quadrunner. Cleaned out the carb and air filter and all hoses. When i put the hose from the back of the carb onto the air box i cannot get it started. When i take that hose off it starts up no problem. Any body know what is going

Did you soak your air filter in motor oil? If it's to wet it won't let air through. Squeeze the filter and get all the excess oil out.
