starter gives a high pitched whine

I have an older car that never starts the first time I turn the key but always eventually starts. What gives?

Milwaukee pitcher Shaun Marcum would not have needed to toss his glove in the air out of frustration Tuesday night after giving up Paul Goldschmidt 's grand slam if he had used it better earlier in the inning.

With Arizona ahead 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Marcum compounded his earlier struggles by giving up two singles to start the inning. After striking out Aaron Hill , he induced a comeback grounder by Justin Upton . Marcum, a noted fielder, could not handle the potential inning-ending double-play ball as it caromed off his glove and between his legs. After scrambling for the ball to get Upton at first for the second out, Marcum intentionally walked Miguel Montero , grudgingly, to load the bases. That set up Goldschmidt's grand slam on a 1-2 fastball left over the plate.

As Goldschmidt's shot took off for right field, Marcum tossed up his glove because he essentially had tossed away Milwaukee's chance at a sweep.
