Can I buy a RENAULT car in Mexico and import it in California?

I am relocating to San Diego, CA.

Will I be able to go buy a Renault Clio in Mexico to bring it and register it in California? (since they don't sell them anymore in the US)

Is it allowed?
How much can it cost me to

No - it's not allowed. It has not been certified under the CA emissions laws, and it probably isn't legal anywhere in the US since it's never been crash tested either.

Even if it was - who would you go to for parts and service if it needed
