The radiator fan stays on after the car is turned off, help?

I have a 1996 Acura Legend, every time I turn the car off the radiator fan stays on(or at least I'm pretty sure that is what stays on). I have to unhook the battery every time I turn the engine off. What can cause this and more importantly, how can I
