Ignition coil part of a normal tune up in a Jeep Cherokee and will it flunk inspection?

I just bought a 2001 Jeep Cherokee 4 x 4 with 113,000 miles. The engine light is on and the mechanic says it's a multiple cylinder misfire and I need a new ignition coil (they replaced the spark plugs already). I also took it to AutoZone to have it checked
