What should I ask for a 2003 Honda Rebel w/ less than 500 miles?

My wife has a 2003 Honda Rebel that has less than 500 miles. She never felt safe riding it and it sat in the garage. We are putting it up for sale but are looking to see how low we should go on the price. I was thinking 1500-1700. But is that too low?
