How far apart do I plant already-started tulip, daffodil & hyacinth plants?!?

Everything I have found online is just for planting the bulbs in the fall, not for planting the "starter plants" in the spring - Does it make a difference? Help!
A few inches (3 or so) apart. If you don't want a dense look then a little more.
