What is a better material for underdrive pulleys...polish aluminum or billet steel???

and why?
I would go with aluminum for sure, it is lighter and less heat conductive, that way the bearings wont roast under harsh conditions.. the steel one being heavier and more heat conductive would burn its bearings over time and wouldnt be recommended.

The method by which the substitute OEM aluminium pulley can be fitted is really simple as explained here: First, you require to get rid of the enthusiast belt. This can be carried out by undoing the bolts that hold the electrical power steering, alternator, and h2o pump pulley. Now, get rid of the previous press metal pulley. Attach the new OEM aluminium billet pulley in the empty location. Now, tighten the bolts again on. Attach the enthusiast belt, and your engine is all spruced up.

A common failure on many C5 Corvettes with even slight modifications is the power steering pulley. The stock, plastic pulleys were not designed to withstand the added horsepower from some of the latest bolt-ons such as air intakes and full exhaust systems.
