I was driving down the freeway when my truck started making a loud clicking sound and died, what happened?

Now i can't even start my truck. It'll turn over but won't crank. It started out as a gradual soft click and got louder and faster until all of the sudden on the way home from work one day the clicking got really, really fast and started losing power.

Check your engine oil dip stick. It sounds like you've run the engine dry of lubricant.
